Sun Spa picture This topic refers to Sun Spa
Dropped by the Sun and the door was locked. A message was posted on the door saying the Sun was closed. A phone number was provided on the door so I called it. Sammy, the manager answered, and I asked her what was going on. She said there was a water problem and no water. I asked when she will reopen and she said next week.

I thought this story sounded fishy so went over to Tokyo and the doors were locked there too. At this time I was bumming out thinking the worst. Went down Parkman to the Fuji and they are open, but later, when I checked the VIP, their doors were also locked. The Four Seasons is open.

Does anyone know any info on busted AMPs in Warren? This is a bad sign. Hopefully, this is only temporary. Take care

I just made up the service comments in order to make this post.

Sun is closed. Not a water problem, but no further info available.

Tokyo looked to be closed too. No cars in lot.

VIP is open. Hong Kong is open. Fuji is open. 4 Seasons is open.

On Saturday August 7, I saw very little traffic at the spas between 3 -6PM in the afternoon. Only one car at 4S.

Anyone know if Sun is open again? It would be a shame to lose such a well run establishment.

Heading back to DC so I decided to check out the status of Spas in Warren (8:30 PM August 11th):

Drove past 4S and there were two cars.

Then went to Sun and read the sign on the door. I called the number and it was Sammy. I talked with her for several minutes. She promised me that Sun will reopen on Friday. She told me that repairs were being made in the building. Sounded a little fishy to me. But, if they open back up on Friday, who cares.

I then did a turn around and went past Tokyo Spa. As far as I could tell there were two cars in the lot. Side door was open so I know they are open for business.

Fuji Spa had one car and open sign was lit.

Drove past VIP and saw Moon looking at her garden. I met up with Moon and she told me that VIP is open for business as usual.

Hong Kong Spa was also open.

So...as far as I can tell all very good news.

OK, I think Radamp64 has figured out what happened in Warren.

While I was on a business trip, Radamp sent me a PM and told me about the closing of the spas in Warren. I was completely out of my mind. All spas closing??? I live in central Illinois and the only thing we have there is corn, cows and soy beans. The closest spas (Bloomington) are over an hour away and they are not very good.

On Sunday evening, I called the Mamasan that I knew from Fuji Spa. She told me she is now in Philly preparing to open a new spa for Young. I asked her if she knew what was going in Warren. She told me not to worry. Supposedly, there is a feud between Young of Fuji Spa (a former employee at Tokyo Spa) and Tokyo Spa. Young went to City Hall and lodged a complaint on Tokyo Spa. Shortly thereafter, all the spas closed temporarily (except for Fuji!).

Radamp had spoken to VIP's Moon this past weekend and Moon told him that the girls need to get their massage licenses.

Radamp's theory is that all the girls in Warren need to get their licences or risk being removed by authorities for not having the proper credentials. It dawned on me that the good looking girls at 4S, Sun, Tokyo, VIP, etc are all missing in action so his theory makes sense.

Radamp came to the conclusion that the ladies are being trained to get their licenses and are somewhere within a 250 mile radius of Warren. Makes sense to me.

I suspect all the ladies are getting a crash course on massage so they can pass their exam. Then everything goes back to normal this upcoming weekend (August 14-15).

I suspect we all want our favorite cuties back! I certainly do!!

I stopped in at Fuji Spa at Noon. Place was empty so I decided to go in and talk to Young. Hannah answered the door. It became apparent that Hannah's English was limited to "please to meet you" and "my name is Hannah". I asked to speak to Young. Young comes out and gives me this "if looks could kill" look and says "why you not come to see me for long time?" I told her that I was seeing another provider now. Somehow she knew exactly who I was seeing. Young is no dummy.

I asked what was going on in Warren. Young said that she needed to go to a furniture store and wanted me to drive her. Since I am on vacation, I said OK. Wow, did I get an earfull on the way to the furniture store.

She told me that all the girls in Warren were checked for authorization to be in the USA as well as massage licenses. As noted previously, there is that long standing feud between Tokyo Spa and Young so this was Young's way to get back at Tokyo Spa. Unfortunately, it caused Sun to get a one week ticket (forced closure by authorities because no on had licenses at Sun Spa). I told Young that after I stopped seeing her and before I started seeing my new provider, I went to Sun Spa and had Laura and Nana. I told Young that my new provider is my all time favorite but Nana at Sun was probably the #1 provider in the USA. I know a lot of guys like Lisa at 4S but I had her once and she was far too aggressive for me.

Young, who probably sees 5-6 guys a day, appeared to be very jealous because I had found a new provider on top of the fact that I was no longer seeing her. She kept saying that she was OK with me seeing a new provider but her vibes told me differently. When we got back to Fuji Spa, she jumped out of the car and went into the spa so I know she was pissed at me.

Overall, the 10 miles that I put on my car plus the gas usage was well worth the information that I obtained from Young.

For you guys that still like Young, she is working today (Aug 12) and tomorrow (Aug 13) but is on vacation this weekend.

Concerning Sun, I feel pretty confident that Sun will be back open for business this weekend.

So 462619, there you have it from the horses mouth.

Not from Ohio but I seached the internet for any spa raids or closures in Ohio, especially Warren, and found no news about spas being raided. There was a similar incident that happened in Corona, Calif. at Corona Health Care and they are open 3-4 days, for now. The site has them shut down but it's wrong as they are open from F-M. JeffS, what Young did for payback, I find that but "to each its own". If the LE shut them down, most likely there would of been a article. As for Sun being back in business, I think it will take some time.

Apache - I was just thinking this morning that I had not seen any recent review posts or forum posts from you. I assumed you were on vacation. Usually, you and TheROCK are very communicative - a good thing on this website!

Yes, Young has a mean streak in her. I could tell in the car that she was getting more and more upset as I was talking to her about why I decided not to see her again. Even though she treated me like a piece of crap earlier this year, I think it was the booze talking. Even though she kept swatting me every time I mentioned my new providers name, she seemed pretty level headed today. She actually apologized to me and told me that she knew she treated me poorly. Very unusual for Young to be so introspective.

As for Sun, Mamasan Sammy promised me that they would be open on Friday but could not tell me which girls would be working. I think it all depends on who gets their licenses.

Hope all is well in SoCal!

Young from Fuji Spa had a legitimate complaint about unlicenced workers in the Warren Spas.

Unfortunately, her actions did result in a lot of stress about our favorite Warren Spas and providers as well as the temporary closure of Sun Spa and others. Sun Spa is still closed.

I imagine that some of the smaller spas in Warren will be getting compliance checks from the health dept. in the near future too.

Moon from VIP Spa has sent her top provider for massage training/licencing this week, so that spa should have no problems with compliance.

Thanks to Jeff S. for his great work at gathering intel.

Jeff, much appreciated.

I assume one way to know if Sun has reopened is when their coupons reappear in the newspaper.

Apache - With all the guys in AMP Heaven going through withdrawals right now, we have a tough time seeing the forest through the trees.

Mamasan Sammy told me Friday but when I passed by to go to a car wash, the open sign was not lit and no cars in the lot.

Normally, Mamasan's car is parked in the lot 24/7.

I would bet that Sun will be open on Monday. It would be interesting to see who got their license first. I can really see Young doing all of this. She is a very jealous type (having had my experiences with her too). I could see some of the other spas (on the Eastside) being in on this too. So maybe it's just a feud between the spas more than the LE cracking down. But that be worst considering a woman's scorn...ay, Jeff.

I am sure the spas will eventually reopen. I highly suspect serious staff changes, here is why.

To get licensed in Ohio requires 750 hours of training (http://www.massage-exam.com/ohio-massage.php) thats about 18 weeks or so if you go 40hrs per week.

Most approved schools do NOT offer bilingual training(I couldn't find 1), meaning the providers lack of English reading, writing and speaking, would prohibit successful completion of training. Cost of the training is several thousands of dollars, which must be paid even if you do not pass or comprehend the training.

So it would take 18 weeks for someone who reads, writes and speaks English to complete the required training in Ohio. It is unlikely many (if any) of the current staff of these spas would be able to do so.

If a license is required for all therapists prior to reopening, they will be changing staff to get licensed therapists in so they can reopen.

These girls need to work, so I suspect and I would bet money that many have already found employment in other counties or states(returned to NY to find jobs, or called friends working) in other spas, my bet is PA or NY/NJ as they have the most lax enforcement (probably due to the large number of spas to check).

I am sorry if this puts a dampner on anyone's hopes but if they closed for licensing, I think a realistic view of what it takes to get licensed is rerquied.

A licensed therapist is going to want a bigger cut of the house fee (not many I know would go for the 10-15.00 most AMPs give the girls).

Rock, even though I'm not from Ohio or around Ohio, that's good intel., you handed over. I see you did some research on this. 18 weeks is slightly less than 4 months. You're more than likely right about the girls breaking up into other counties or states nearby. If they want to get certified, "They have their work cut out for them" to re-open. I also agree that there will be some change, therapists wise but the more english fluent might return after their certification, if they do decide to re-open. If they do re-open, it'll be in late December or January of 2011 unless Mamasan finds some certified girls, start from there, and the others will follow, once they're certified. It just makes sense to me that they'll just "move on". The owner of this place did make some bank, same with Mamasan but i'm sure the providers did too. The inspecters probably gave them the end of the month(July) to come up to correct the citation, otherwise shut down. Don't know if Young from Fuji had something to do with this or it just might of been that Warren stuck to their guns, the spas fell like a domino effect, and "Cleaned House", indirectly. Not only did you dampen some hopes, but also a limp dick or 2. Just like the providers moving on but the clients too. Not only did Ohio lose Lebron James this summer but Sun Spa too .
