Several city businesses, that were allegedly operating as illegal brothels,
have been shut down in the District.
DC Attorney General Peter Nickles said the businesses operated as health spas,
social clubs and massage parlors, but were found to be associated with prostitution
and illegal sexually-oriented activities.
"The District has worked diligently to bring to light the illegal activities occurring
at these unsafe businesses and fought to keep them closed for a safer and peaceful
community," said Nickles in a news release.
The news release listed the following businesses among those closed:
Orange Spa at 617 Pennsylvania Avenue SE;
Star Spa at 1829 M Street NW; D.C.
Wrestling Club at 1618 14th Street NW;
VIP Spa at 719 8th Street, SE and 1429 Parkwood Place, NW.
City agencies used new regulations that allow them to immediately shutter the businesses.
"As part of this initiative," said Nickles, "the District has used and will continue to
use every tool at its disposal to make sure such illegal activities will not be tolerated."

Closing them and "busting" them are not the same. Sounds like from the article that they used some new regs to close the spas, which may mean no one actually went to jail. It does not say anything about arrests....

during the raid, if any customer was inside, worst case, say he was in the middle of 'something' what happens to him?
